My knowledge of martial arts and my present education as a modern dancer brought me to a research about the possible confrontation between martial arts and modern dance. An example is given by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, a Belgian choreographer and dancer, who presented a dance piece inspired by the skills and spirituality of Buddhist Shaolin monks from China

This festival besides being one artistic event is an opportunity for academics, companies and dancers to meet and share a common passion which is dance. As mentioned above it is a worldwide festival in which 18 of the most important academies in the world get together and perform sharing publicly and stage.

In data 23 Ottobre 2014 presso la sede di “Fotografando” in Montopoli in Val d’Arno (Pisa), si è riunita la giuria composta da: Carlo Lucarelli (AFI BFI EFIAP Delegato Regionale Fiaf, Presidente di Giuria), Piero Sbrana (EFI EFIAP), Pasquale Moffa (Cicrolo Culturale Fotografico La Fototeca), Maria Rolli (operatore culturale - Festival Sete Sois Sete Luas), Laura Tosi (musicista), segretario Gabriele Bientinesi (Ass. Culturale Musicastrada). Sono state valutate le 288 opere dei 107 autori e con attenta e scrupolosa valutazione della Undicesima edizione del Concorso Fotografico “Fotografando la Musica 2014”.

Her Majesty the Queen, opens Friday December 15, 2006 in Rotterdam, the new World Music & Dance Centre (WMDC), a meeting place for music and dance styles from around the world. It 

is an initiative of Codarts, University for the Arts and the Foundation for Arts Education Rotterdam (SKVR). The center works with international institutions such as La Cité de la Musique in Paris, the World Children's and Roots and Routes.

In the WMDC, the musicians and dancers from renowned masters in the field of world music and dance. They can discover a new world of other styles.
